Get Functional. Get Strong
Functional strengthening and fitness to get you to your best physical level possible!
My name is Dr. Manuel Arruffat PT DPT.
I am a rehabilitation professional with over 14 years of experience. I have worked in hospitals, skilled nursing and outpatient facilities specializing in sports based injuries as a Doctor of Physical Therapy. I have always enjoyed participating in sports mainly soccer, running trail races and regular races of distances from 5k to 50 miles. I briefly trained in BJJ and Krav Maga and was impressed with the conditioning drills. This motivated me to obtain my strength conditioning/personal training related certifications in addition to practicing as a Doctor of Physical Therapy. While working with older clients I realized that these exercises could be applied toward their treatment sessions and they demonstrated significant improvements in comparison to "PT mill "(therapy clinics that employ an aide to cue the client through minimally challenging exercises while seeing multiple patients) exercises. They also seemed to enjoy their exercise prescription.
AS the founder of fysioplus strength and wellbeing my purpose is to help meet the needs of clients of all ages looking to improve overall fitness as that is true REHAB.
While the world of fitness and wellness is broad and has many different approaches, one common standard to look for is what certifications does a practitioner have.

* NASM Certified Corrective Exercise Specialist(CES),
*NASM Performance Enhancement Specialist (PES)
*NASM Personal Trainer (CPT)
NASM Stretch and Flexibility Coach
*Dry Needling (currently only offered in NJ)
*ISSA Senior Exercise Specialist
The National Academy of Sports Medicine (NASM) is an American fitness training provider founded in 1987.

The FMS is our tool for standardized movement screening to see how an individual, no matter their age, is moving in everyday life. It takes into account both mobility and stability and equips the professional with information to make programming decisions with precision and purpose.
The SFMA is our clinical assessment for those who experience pain. It is a movement based diagnostic system which systematically finds the cause of pain - not just the source - by logically breaking down dysfunctional movement patterns in a structured, repeatable assessment.
*CAFS gives you the tools to develop custom assessment, treatment, and training programs tailor-made for each individual patient or client.
*Recognize the health and fitness challenges facing older adults and explain how exercise fits in the continuum of care
