Corrective Exercises

Corrective exercises why they help

Corrective exercise is a term that has become more common in today's exercise literature. Why is it important to implement corrective exercises to avoid and address injuries. Pain that is of muscular skeletal injury may usually be caused by poor movement. This pain may come as a result of an imbalance of musculoskeletal/synergistic coordination, or other origin. NASM states that the role of corrective exercises is to improve the quality of movement and provide improved performance and decrease the risk of injury. As physical therapists, corrective exercises are important to prescribe our patients to help ensure that after rehabbing an injury, there is a decreased chance of a reoccurrence.
