Exercise varies in intensity, endurance and many other factors which may vary from a short quick sprint, a long run, or a combination of different movements. Exercise requires effort which is provided by stored energy systems. In general, quick and intense exercise lasting up to 30 seconds is provided by phosphocreatine . The first 2 seconds are provided by stored ATP in the muscle. This system combined is called the phosphagen system.
