What is hyperlipidemia


Hyperlipidemia is high cholesterol and fat in the blood > 240 mg/dl and LDL > 100 mg/dl. LDL is low-density lipoproteins (bad cholesterol) which carries a high level of cholesterol, a moderate level of protein and an low level of triglycerides as stated in ISSA. This is related to the buildup of sclerotic deposits in the arteries. Exercise can be beneficial in controlling hyperlipidemia as it helps promote the increase of blood plasmsa level of HDL which is generally referred to as the good cholesterol.
