Being aware of movement

Updated: Oct 31, 2022

Our bodies sensory information is received from sensory receptors by the central nervous system. This information allows the body to know where a joint is in space. It is important for the body to be aware of the position of its limbs during movement. Proprioception is sensory information in regards to position and movement and sensation. This is very important in the ability to control our movement. A rehabilitation program will focus on proprioception which will include postural control and balance training to improve proprioceptive capabilities.
